Open Water Swimming
Open water swimming has had a national open water championship for more than 100 years.

Open water swimming does demand slightly different skills to pool swimming but the sport is becoming more and more popular since its inclusion in the Olympic Games for the first time at Beijing 2008.

The sport of open water swimming has grown recently and their are now many mass participation events, many people use such an event as a target to develop their fitness, the ASA has a very useful Just Swim section on their webite with some great information on how to get involved in open water events.

London Open Water Championships information can be found under 'Open Water/Competitions/Championships'.
