Presentation of the London Swimming Awards 2017

The 2017 London Swimming Award winners were invited to the London Region ACM on 16 September to recieve their awards.

The Winners for 2017 are:
Jeff Cook Salver which is awarded to the individual, team or club that has made a significant contribution to the Sport in the London Region. - Ealing Swimming Club.

Dave Barnes Trophy which is awarded to an individual who has made outstanding contribution as an official or poolside helper.  (This may include teaching, assisting with coaching or other poolside activity),– Nick Hallam of Croydon Amphibians SC
Nick is very involved at Club, County and Regional level.  He is a very active and committed member of the London Swimming Event’s team.  His sense of humour and ‘can do’ attitude makes him an essential part of the team.  He works very hard behind the scenes.  If all his dreams, and schemes, come to fruition London will be having events which equal the Olympics in gadgets and splendour.

Flo Barnes Trophy which is awarded to an individual who has made outstanding contribution as an official or poolside helper.  (This may include teaching, assisting with coaching or other poolside activity),– Jeanette Edmiston of Teddington SC
Jeanette is involved at Club, County and Regional level.  She has recently qualified as a referee and has refereed regional events for the first time this year.  Her ongoing dedication and input as a member of the swimming event’s team is invaluable.  She quietly gets on with organising the non-technical officials. She is a valued member of the team and a deserving winner of the Flo Barnes Trophy.
