London Summer of Sport 2008 applications still open - don't miss out
Funding opened on 16 June and closes on 11 July, so why not get involved in what will be the biggest and best London Summer of Sport to date.
This year, sports clubs, organisations and youth and community groups can apply for grants of up to £1,000, plus receive extra training and marketing materials to make your activity even more successful. We have already received a number of applications, however in order to reach our target we are looking for many more.
London Masters Swimming need to hire a central London Pool for a Masters Fun

Greenwich Leisure deadline for athlete and coach bursaries:
The GLL Foundation has launched with bursaries for athletes and coaches available for those operating from a GLL facility or GLL operated Borough.

Colin Brown (RD): is on annual leave returning to work on the 14 July.
This week Mark Griggs (EO) met with some of the north & east boroughs to discuss running some swimming coaching courses and spent time allocating tutors to courses. He now hopes more courses can be registered shortly.

This week Jo Calvino (Aquatics Development Programme Co-ordinator) hasbeen adjusting to her new role with London Swimming, and has finalised the details for the water polo clinic taking place later this month, while also researching into locations for the ACM and putting together the programme.
This week also sees Jo in Plymouth working on one of her last Diving events, this being National Skills Finals. This year is the first year for a Region to not only host but to also organise the event due to the re-structure of National events in ASA Diving.
Ben Campion (Investment Manager) is on annual leave.
This week Janna Callan (RDO) has spent time in Barking and Dagenham on the Free Swimming project. Janna has now met with both clubs in the area and briefed them on the project. Next week Janna will be assisting Jemma Konuralp with the Haringey Swimming Club Swim21 assessment and working on the project plan for Barking and Dagenham.
This week Jo Melchior (EDS - Lewisham) is on annual leave.
This week Annabel Kehoe (EDS - Islington) visited the Anaconda Swimming Club with Jemma Konuralp, as the club had a presentation evening, recognising the efforts of their members. The rest of the week Annabel concentrated mainly on the upcoming summer holiday programmes, ensuring arrangements for the staff training, equipment purchases, and extensive marketing material were all in the works to be ready in a few weeks time. Annabel also spent some time planning the next phase for the Liquid Swim Programme.
Next week, Annabel will be concentrating in implementing an extensive marketing campaign to run towards the end of September throughout the borough, promoting swimming.
This week Jemma Konuralp (Swim21 Quality coordinator) has enjoyed meeting Anaconda Swimming Club and had a wonderful time at the Whippersnapers swimming gala on Thursday morning. Next week she is assessing both Haringey Borough Swimming Club and Griffins of Enfield for their Swim 21 accreditation.
