This week has been extremely busy for Janna Callan (RDO) who has been working with Jemma Konuralp on the Swim21 assessment process and working in Barking and Dagenham on the project plan which has now been circulated to the steering group.

After a wonderful week in the sun Jo Melchior (EDS – Lewisham) returned to the glorious weather in Lewisham to work alongside colleagues on the TOP ups scheme and the Lewisham Summer Free Swim. The week ended with Jo showcasing the Everyday Swim project at the formal launch of free swimming attended by the Mayor of Lewisham. Next week sees Jo ensuring the delivery of Swim Festivals to year 6 pupils and the distribution of a voucher to pupils accessing Crash Courses during the holidays.
Just to gloat for a moment Lewisham won the Disability Swimming at the Youth Games, they also won the demonstration Mini Polo event. Well done Caroline Gray and Tony Bagnall and a big thank you to the teachers and helpers who have assisted this year.
This week Annabel Kehoe (EDS - Islington) was ecstatic to deliver the Splash magazine to Islington schools and leisure centres, with a total distribution of 30,000 copies. The magazine aims to promote swimming and other water sports in general by highlighting the many opportunities that come from being involved in sport, from international podiums to diverse career pathways, as well as promoting the extensive programme of activities that are on offer in Islington over the summer holidays. She also attended several meetings with Aquaterra Leisure management to ensure the staffing and monitoring procedures are in place for the upcoming summer holiday programmes. The week concluded with Ironmonger Row Baths hosting a BSAC Snorkelling Course which was attended by 15 Aquaterra Leisure staff.
Next week, Annabel will be meeting with the recently appointed Islington and Camden Sports Competition Manager. She will also be hosting a Mini Water Polo CPD and a synchronised swimming CPD towards the end of the week.
Jemma Konuralp (Swim21 Quality coordinator) has this weekstarted the Swim 21 assessment of both Haringey Borough and Griffins of Enfield swimming clubs. Next week she will be continuing those assessments and finalising the revalidation documents for a number of clubs.
