Waterpolo Referees Course - 9 August

Grade D Course for Water Polo Referees, ULU, 9-10/8/2008

Content

Grade D is the new basic level course for referees and falls in line with National Occupational Standards at Level 2 Skills Active.

The course will be delivered by Dr. Chris Freebury, the international referee who has responsibility for the development and recruitment of water polo referees and table officials.

The course is supported by the asa London region, London Swimming.

Attendees

Attendees must be willing to referee at an appropriate level in local competitions subsequent to the course. Their names and contact details will be supplied to the asa London region. They are expected to have experience of playing water polo at some level.

The correct uniform, white trousers and white shirts (no track suit trousers or shorts, please), is mandatory for the practical examination included on the course.

Late applications will be accepted.

Venue

University of London Union (ULU), Malet Street, London WC1E 7HY.

·         ULU is opposite Waterstones Bookshop at the top of Malet Street. The nearest tube is Goodge Street on the Northern Line. Euston Square, Russell Square, Warren Street and Tottenham Court Road are all within easy walking distance.

·         There is plenty of street parking on Sunday, but not on Saturday.

·         There are plenty of facilities for refreshment on-site and in the immediate surrounding area.

Timings are variable depending on the experience of the candidates and at the discretion of the tutor. Both Theoretical and Practical examination may form part of the course.
Cost
The course fee is £10, which covers the examination fee. It has been possible to set it at this level thanks to London Swimming’s and ULU’s support for the course.
