Cold Water Championships 2009
On the 24th January 2009 South London Swimming Club will be holding the 4th UK Cold Water Swimming Championships at Tooting Bec Lido. This annual event has become a must for cold water swimmers, each year attracting many people who are trying it for the very first time. Age and ability is no barrier as with temperatures as low as 4°C, jumping in for the 30 metre races is a challenge in itself.
There are a variety of races this year, from the traditional "head up" breaststroke, the freestyle dash and relays, to the endurance 450 metre challenge for the really fool hardy.
To help competitors recover there'll be a Finnish sauna available after the races as well as a host of stalls and entertainment going on throughout the day. More information
