Safeguarding

Many people are afraid to report worrying signs they have seen or heard.  The Government has launched a campaign - https://tacklechildabuse.campaign.gov.uk/ - which aims to help tackle the barriers so that children can get the help they need;  it outlines some of the signs to spot, what to do and what will happen.  As the campaign says "You don’t have to be absolutely certain about your suspicions; if you’re concerned a child is being abused or their safety is at risk, speak to someone".

Update on payments to London Swimming

Over the last couple of years, the Region has found it increasingly difficult to administratively handle cheque receipts in an efficient manner due to banking changes and fewer cheque receipts. It now recognises that the point has been reached when it can no longer accept cheque receipts. The region is giving 3 months notice that from 1st APRIL 2017 it will no longer accept cheques, instead payment should be made electronically to its bank account, details are listed below,
HSBC
Sort Code 40-20-09
Account 41469932

Please ensure the payment includes the appropriate reference issued by the event organisers to ensure funds are correctly allocated by the region.

Guidance on VAT charges on facility hire

Following correspondence by the ASA with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), HMRC has agreed that under certain circumstances the hire of swimming facilities by clubs and regional bodies will be exempt from VAT.
