The criteria for swim21 has been overhauled Nationally and the process for obtaining accreditation has completely changed in London making it less paper based and more practical. If you want more information about the new process please contact Jemma Konuralp or download the new criteria below.
All clubs need to comply with the Compliance and Workforce modules plus the criteria for the specific disciplines EXCEPT masters only clubs who need only comply with the foundation criteria.
The London Regional Swim 21 Panel meets four times a year where they consider the evidence for club’s accreditation/re-accreditation and re-validation. The Panel will make one of three decisions, to accredit the club, not accredit the club or ask advice from the Swim21 National Panel in respect of any aspect of the club’s submission. Details of panel members can be found here.
The National Swim 21 Panel meet four times a year approximately a month after the regional panel meetings. If the Swim21 Regional Panel accredit/re-accredit or re-validate a club the National Panel will merely validate that decision. Otherwise they will give advice to the Regional Panel on any matters that have been referred to them. The national panel consists of a representative from each of the eight ASA regions; an independent ASA board member; an independent Chairman; the national Swim 21 co-ordinator; a club representative and a senior ASA english programmes manager.
