Water Polo

On Saturday 12th of July at Highgrove Pool in Hillingdon, the inaugural London Swimming mini-polo tournament for West London took place. Water Polo players from Hillingdon, Ealing, Brent and Hammersmith and Fulham attended the session and everyone played well and enjoyed themselves.

London Swimming Nik Jovanovic would like to thank all parents and players for attending the tournament. This is the first of a number of tournaments that will take place across West London so well done to all who took part and played so well. We hope that all the players will continue to take part in mini-polo and that this will be the first of many opportunities to play and enjoy mini-polo and water polo in the future.

London Swimming is preparing a programme of Master Classes in all disciplines which will help you achieve your potential. More information

London has a strong tradition in Water Polo. There are approximately 17 Water Polo Clubs in London and lots of other places to have a go.  Seven London Clubs play in the 4 Divisions of the National Water Polo League.

If you are learning to swim then you should be exposed to the skills of Water Polo as part of levels 8-9-10 of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. Children learning the skills then play 'mini polo' which is a cut down version of full water polo and great fun.

If you want to have a go at 'mini polo' look out for Aqua Extreme in the following Boroughs Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow, Hillingdon and Harrow.

London has a Water Polo Manager in Dave Andrews and a committee that meets regularly.

London is supported by Norman Leighton the National Development Officer for Water Polo.
