Spotlight on Aquatic Networks

There is a Club Network at Crystal Palace. The Crystal Palace Club Network was established in 2013 following the closure of the previous ASA Beacon program in South London.
The  Network  is  a  collaboration  of  11 clubs  including  Beckenham,  Brompton, Chelsea & Westminster, Croydon Amphibians, Dulwich Dolphins, Leander, Wandsworth, Bromley SC, Orpington OJ’s, Saxon  Crown, and South Croydon  SC. The clubs share  and  manage  the  pool  allocation  previously allocated to  the  Beacon program  at  Crystal  Palace  and  also  run performance  sessions  on  Saturday mornings for enrolled swimmers from trustee and associated clubs.

Four different distances were swum – 1k, 1.5k, 3k and 5k. The 1.5k race was the biggest event of the day with nearly 120 entrants resulting in the need to swim the race in several “waves”.
